Where The Greatest Cooks On The Planet Gather
Welcome to the party, and I sure am glad that all of you are here today! I can't believe that for some folks this is actually the very last week of summer before their school starts next week. I am sharing a great Slow Cooker Ranch Chicken that will be a great back to school special for all those busy days coming up. I can't wait to see what you are sharing today so lets get this party started!
A Special Note To My Readers
Over a week ago our entire A/C system went out, yes in 108 degree temperatures. Needless to say we were unable to stay in our home and were staying elsewhere for over a week. In all that transition I wasn't able to visit all of you the way I usually do, but I do thank you so much for coming to our party on Thursday evening, I really love you' al! We are back in the house now and it is very cool, thank goodness! Maybe we can get back to the routine of the cottage now.

Background Story For Full Plate Thursday
When
we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a
lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at
the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we
would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before
payday... the last week of the month. I have some of the fondest
memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we
had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the
table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the
hostess would say "come fill your plate".

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting your party and sharing the wonderful features each week.
Oh my, we couldn't live without our A/C! Glad to hear yours is fixed now, Miz Helen. Thanks so much for hosting! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for featuring my post How to Freeze zucchini! Stay cool - I guess going without a/c in your area is like going with out heat in the winter here. We would have to leave also! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...thank you for so kindly including me in your lovely list of features from last week! What a joy and privilege to be part of a such a sweet, encouraging blog party. I'm so glad I found you and your sweet site, Miz Helen. :) P.S. I do dearly love red gingham. ;)

ReplyDeleteHello Miz Helen, Thank you so much for hosting! It's amazing to think summer is nearly over in some places - ours feels like it hasn't started! I really hope we get some more sunshine. So pleased to hear you are back settling into the cottage with functioning air conditioning! I've brought my Chicken Stroganoff Pasta Bake at number 66. Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Miz Helen for hosting another great party!!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a relax weekend, and hopefully not so hot (here we're facing another heat-wave)
Good Morning Miz Helen, I am so sorry to hear that your air conditioning broke down.... and with such temperatures.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to trying your slow cooker ranch chicken.... on busy days, it is wonderful to have a recipe which can be put into the slow clooker and forgotten about, then to be greeted with wonderful aromas when we arrive home.
Best Wishes
Daphne
Our air conditioning broke last week too! But we were lucky, the downstairs one still functioned and we had a bit of a break from the really hot weather so we managed. I hope you have a nice cool rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you A/C is back up and running. We were without for 2.5 days after a storm knocked out power to our whole town. It is amazing how accustomed we are to our creature comforts! Thanks for hosting and for featuring the refrigerator pickles. Everything sounds delicious as always!
ReplyDeleteMiz Helen,
ReplyDeleteSo glad your AC is working now. We've been lucky that it hasn't been so hot here in the northern NYC suburbs. Thanks for hosting the party. Hope you don't mind my Sluttier Slutty Brownies post. I know the name is a little much.
Annamaria
Glad to hear your AC is working again. I remember a few years back when a bad storm blew through our area, and knocked the power out. The damage was so bad that it took 3 days to get everyone's power restored. Of course that happened when the temps were around the 100 degree mark. Enjoy that AC, and thanks for hosting. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm starving! So many great links - thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteHello gorgeous! Thank you so much for hosting such a fabulous party! Please take a minute and stop by our party. We would love to party with you twice this week! Lou Lou Girls

ReplyDeleteHi Miz Helen. I love your featured recipes, so well thought out. A great selection this week, and every week. This week I shared Rejuvenation Water. I love the cucumber-mint and lemon waters at spas or hotels. It's a great way to drink more during the dog days of summer. Hugs to Max!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the party Miz Helen! Hope you are having a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the feature this week! :D
