Full Plate Thursday 3-2-17 #317
Welcome March and I am so happy to see you here at Full Plate Thursday sharing your amazing recipes with us. Spring is in the air here and there are little signs that it will soon be in full bloom. Nothing is better than a fresh salad from the garden or maybe a special Lettuce Tub. We had salad last week from our special Lettuce Tub that sits outside the kitchen door. We repurposed a antique French Bath Tub that serves as our Lettuce Tub. I am very excited to see all the wonderful Spring Recipes that you are sharing today!

Background Story For Full Plate Thursday
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the week. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".
How wonderful to be enjoying lettuce from your special lettuce tub, Miz Helen. Thanks so much for hosting and I hope you're loving this weather.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of home-grown lettuce -- our fur babies would probably eat it, though! Thanks for hosting, Miz Helen! :)
ReplyDeleteA lettuce tub, ha! I love it. I stopped planting lettuce as we can't eat as fast as it grows. Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful day!
