Quiet Time The Picnic Report
As I sit here today in the stillness of the garden I am reflecting on the recent Fall Picnic that we had here at The Cottage.I feel overwhelmed with gratitude for all the wonderful people that God has put in our life. I could have written about all the wonderful food that I can still see and taste that everyone brought to the picnic, or all the laughter that we shared, but what I really want to reflect on is the wonderful bonds of friendship that we have together. We are a diverse group from all walks of life and have been brought together by our God who knew that we would need the strength of our friend as we walk along this journey. Some of us have known each other for some 30 years and others just a short while but we all bring so many blessings to each other.
As we walk along life's journey there is no greater gift than a true friend. Someone who can sit with you and just be still in the moment, or laugh with you, and sometimes cry with you. Someone who will understand no matter what, and offer that unconditional love that we all seek.
Today I am reminded of the verse in Jeremiah, "For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
Oh my what an amazing plan He had for me and I am so grateful for His unlimited grace in my life and I am grateful for each and everyone of you who travel this journey with me. God Bless You.
Peace and Joy

ReplyDeleteWelcome to The Cottage. I am so happy that you will be following along with us. I am looking forward to see you here.
It is nice to hear that you had a lovely time with your friends. Meeting up with friends is a great way to relax and unwind. I should do that too! May you have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteahhh it is refreshing to be reminded of God's grace. I am blessed that one of my best friends is my Mom. I can hear the laughter and smell the aroma of the picnic. If I closed my eyes I am imagine the embrace of a fellow traveler. Victory is a journey not a destination and I am so grateful that the Lord does not ask us to travel alone his word says he will never leave us. What a bonus that we get friends as well.
ReplyDeleteThis post was so encouraging to me! I agree that I so appreciate the folks God has brought into my life. Your puppies are so cute!!
