Baked Nutty Pretzel Chicken
Miz Helen's Kitchen
Ingredients
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into strips 1/2 inch thick
or chicken tenders
1 medium size bag pretzel with salt
3/4 cup honey roasted nuts of any kind chopped
3 sprigs of fresh thyme or 2 teaspoon dried thyme
2 teaspoon parsley
11/2 teaspoon poultry season
dash Cayenne Pepper
Salt and Pepper
2 eggs beaten
6 tablespoons water
Directions
Wash and dry chicken. Salt and pepper the chicken on all sides and set aside.
Place pretzels and nuts in a food processor or blender and grind until it is a fine powder. Pour the mix onto a plate and add the thyme, parsley, poultry season and Cayenne and mix well.
In a medium bowl mix the egg and the water
Dip the chicken in the pretzel mix then into the egg and back into the pretzel mix.
Place on a oil sprayed cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until the juice runs clear
Let sit for about 5 minutes before serving
Serve with a dipping sauce of Honey Mustard, BBQ Sauce or Ranch Dressing
Tip: These can be kept warm in the oven until serving and they freeze really well. Will make a great chicken nugget for kids.
