Full Plate Thursday Background Story
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the month. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".
I have just a few suggestions before you leave your dish and fill your plate.
- Link directly to YOUR RECIPE and not to your web page.
- Scroll down to the button that says "click here to enter"
- You will be asked to give your URL ( which will be your direct link to your post), the name of your recipe, and your email which we will not be able to see.
- Then you will be asked to select a thumbnail from your post that will be uploaded to your entry.
- Please include a link back to Full Plate Thursday, somewhere on your post. We will give you a gentle reminder if you forget...
- Please leave me a comment before you leave the page and let me know that you are here, I want to be a good hostess.
- Don't forget to visit with all the others, after all that is part of the fellowship that makes it so much fun, in addition to all the good food of course...
- Grab The Full Plate Button if you like and take it home with you.
- Now God Bless you and your food and everyone fill your plate!
Great food on a hot week.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for hosting :)
ReplyDeleteMiz Helen-you are such a wonderful hostess, with your Full Plate Thursday...I feel so bad for missing to link up for a few weeks now...when I do link up, I always manage to visit and comment, and even follow some of the participants. The last time I did link up, I left nice comments on at least 3 blogs, and followed.
ReplyDeleteWonder why I don't even get a response of at least a word of "thanks" from them?...hmmm! ...and I'm not even expecting them to follow back, just and "acknowledgent"...that's all!
I'm a little more conscious now, and feel a bit rejected, and that is not a good feeling!
Believe me, this has no reflection on you or your blog. I love and admire you, and your gracious hospitality!
My dear friend Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that they did not take the time to visit and or comment on your beautiful blog. Certainly that is their loss, as you are one of the most talented cooks out there in blogger land. I just love coming to your blog and looking at your wonderful recipes and beautiful photos. I do understand what how you feel, I have had the same thing happen to me many, many times and it does cause a feeling of rejection sometimes. However then someone like you comes who is always loyal to comment and form that relationship and then I forget all those who did not. I appreciate you and your beautiful talent and always look forward to seeing you.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Miz Helen
Thank you so much for your caring comment, Miz Helen!
ReplyDeleteLike I said you are so gracious, and kind, I truly love your blog and your Full Plate on Thursdays. I have been so tied up with the house/dog watching for the last 6 weeks for both of my children...it was not an option for me to upload my photo from their computer, so I let it go!
Your kind and encouraging words really put a smile on my face, and I thank you for that. I will still continue to comment, and as the saying goes..."let the chips fall where they may!"
I have such issues with blogger, and google, on my google sign on with Internet explorer, it doesn't even let me sign in, and that's why I have to leave my comment with the Name/URL, which does not always takes you back to my blog. I do have my e-mail address on my blog profile. Now that I signed in with Firefox, even my profile photo does show up! Go figure!
I will for sure link up for next Thursday. Your blog really brightens my day:DDD
Hugs,
Elisabeth
Hello, nice to meet you. I was over at Poppi Linn's (she was #124 on your above links). I catching up and enjoying her posts when I thought I'd check out your link. Very clever. Neat idea. I need to read a bit more and just might be back to join you! Read your profile. Going to look around a bit more. Thanks, Jenn
