Full Plate Thursday Background Story
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the month. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".
I have just a few suggestions before you leave your dish and fill your plate.
I have just a few suggestions before you leave your dish and fill your plate.
- Link directly to YOUR RECIPE and not to your web page.
- Scroll down to the button that says "click here to enter"
- You will be asked to give your URL ( which will be your direct link to your post), the name of your recipe, and your email which we will not be able to see.
- Then you will be asked to select a thumbnail from your post that will be uploaded to your entry.
- Please include a link back to Full Plate Thursday, somewhere on your post. We will give you a gentle reminder if you forget...
- Please leave me a comment before you leave the page and let me know that you are here, I want to be a good hostess.
- Don't forget to visit with all the others, after all that is part of the fellowship that makes it so much fun, in addition to all the good food of course...
- Grab The Full Plate Button if you like and take it home with you.
- Now God Bless you and your food and everyone fill your plate!
Thank You So Much For Coming Today and Come Back Soon!

ReplyDeleteHi Miz Helen,
ReplyDeleteToday I've brought Napa Cabbage Slaw with Red Wine Vinaigrette to share(GF and allergy-friendly). I like napa cabbage because it has a more tender texture and a milder, sweeter flavor than most types of American cabbage.

Quack Quack!

thanks for hosting!
Good morning! I am sharing a recipe that my kids did not "get." I made tomato soup with peas and little cubes potatoes and carrots. I added quinoa... So I said to my boys, "Look alphabet soup with only C's!" The blank stares made me realize that they have never had the iconic canned soup because of the MSG. We all liked it, even though they didn't get their mom's joke. I shared our pizza quiche as well, for anyone whose kids like pizza but think they don't like eggs. It works at this house!
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting this link-up! Have a great week!

Hy everybody!
ReplyDeleteI left you a great recipe of "mucenici". It's one year old, but this is a celebration we, Romanians, have once a year, on the 9th of March. We bake or boil this symbols for the 40 saints that were tortured for not giving up their faith in Jesus and the men in our country suppose to drink 40 glasses of red wine in honor of these saints. (this is the short story)
Hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do. Nowadays we don't drink so much (:)) ) but we like to eat "mucenici" at a cup of coffee or share them with our friends, family and neighbors.
Have a nice day and a great weekend!
The weather has certainly been terrible and how thoughtful of you to remember those caught in the terrible tornados. Two touched down in our little mountain town and did some damage. I only wish we were there to help the people pick up the pieces.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting Full Plate Thursday. Today I brought Spicy Shrimp, a dish you can serve two different ways from the same recipe.
Sam
