Slow Cooker Green Chili Stew
When it gets really cold and rainy outside one of the favorite stew's at The Country Cottage is Green Chili Stew. It is real comfort food for us, and that is what we are making today. We like to serve it with warm homemade tortilla's and I can't wait until it's ready!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds so good! Our high temperatures are breaking records around here, but I still think we would enjoy that chili!
ReplyDeleteWow does that look fantastic! My husband would love them. Come visit us today. We are having a great giveaway. 3 wonderful charm bracelets from Cutey. We love them!
ReplyDeleteWow, Miz Helen, This looks delicious! Wish I could be there to share some with you!
ReplyDeleteMiz Helen... This stew looks absolutely scrumptious! I wish my car wasn't in the shop today, because I'd be on my way to the store to get the beef right now. LOL I'll be making sure to get all of the ingredients this week, though. Yumm!
ReplyDeleteThis stew looks so delicious Miz Helen! I love the addition of chili to any stew-always gives it such a great tasty kick!
ReplyDeleteThis is what I should make to make me all well, again. Hardly any work to it just pop them in the slow cooker, and enjoy the wonderful aroma of the spicy stew cooking away! Love the addition of the green chili, and all the great spices. Thank you Miz Helen for sharing your amazing Green Chili Stew...I do need something spicy, and hardy, I still feel quite weak, and need a nice bowl of this chili stew to make me feel better!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so hearty and delicious!

ReplyDeleteI love anything with green chili, but I have noticed when you get it out of a can it doesn't taste the same. If you can't get fresh New Mexico Green Chili, you can try adding some powdered New Mexico green chili to add flavor to the rather bland canned stuff. You can get quality powdered New Mexico chili here: http://www.chimayochilebrothers.com/shop
My family is going to love this... so glad you shared it with us on Food of the World.
ReplyDeleteSince it's Hatch chile season I've been looking for a new way to combine beef & the chiles. This sounds perfect. I just made a batch of homemade beef stock, so I'll have to try this for dinner soon. :)
ReplyDeleteI just made vegetable beef soup, but your green chili and jalapeño sounds like it would kick it up a notch. I must remember for the next time.
ReplyDeleteLooks absolutely delicious for a chilly fall day. Could you please tell me if you used fresh or canned green chili. If you used fresh, what kind? Don't have access to fresh Hatch here in NC. Look forward to a response so I can whip this up soon!
ReplyDeleteI added about one half teaspoon of celery salt and I made jalapeno and onion cornbread to go with it. It was so good. Thank you for this awesome recipe.
