Whats For Dinner Next Week 6-3-12
We had the nicest rain today, just a perfect spring time shower for the garden vegetables and all the pretty flowers. Our harvest time is beginning and we are going to be so busy with our summertime canning. Because we have had good rains it will be a bountiful harvest, I am so excited. Walk out to the The Garden Gate with me and take a look at all the vegetables that are ready to harvest. I think we may be able to get a basket of squash today. We'll just walk through the garden and talk about next weeks menu.

Oh my! A family friend when I was a little girl (many, many years ago) used to make chocolate cream pie with a beautiful Meringue on the top just like the pictures of yours. I've been thinking a lot about that pie lately. Might have to break down and make yours soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious meal plan! I love chocolate cream pie and potatoes au gratin! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteMiz Helen, I'm hosting a giveaway over at my blog and would love for you to stop by and participate.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
Those Crock Pot potatoes sound soooo good and I'm anxious to try the grilled citrus chicken. Have a good week, Miz Helen! xoxo
ReplyDeleteNice...I love Spring showers that freshen up the garden. How wonderful you've got the squash and tomatoes. I wish I have a garden like yours.
ReplyDeleteHelen, I can't wait for the picnic post! I LOVE brisket, it is my favorite meat! I would really like to take that basket of great produce home. You are quite the hostess!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being so supportive and joining ON THE MENU MONDAY!
I always smile when I see chocolate pie with merginue. A family friend's mother was serving this pie when we were young and the girl called it "foam". It was so funny that I've remembered these dear times together ever since. Sure wish I had a garden like yours for my own squash and tomatoes! Thanks for visiting me at Your Cozy Home Party!
