Turkey Sausage With Apple Sauerkraut
While we were on vacation in Oregon it was so cool there often times it felt like our fall weather. It is interesting how seasonal our taste buds are sometimes. We got really hungry for a nice warm comfy fall dish so I made this Turkey Sausage with Apple Sauerkraut, we sure did enjoy it and hope you will too.
Turkey Sausage and Apple Sauerkraut
While the sausage is cooking, heat the canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the cabbage, onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring often, until the cabbage has wilted slightly, about 4 minutes.
Stir in the beer or apple juice, vinegar, mustard and the brown sugar and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the apples, and the grilled sausage to the skillet and cook over low heat until the sausage, cabbage and apples are tender, about 8 minutes.
We like to serve this comfort dish with mashed potatoes.

It looks good to me! It's down-right cold here today and there will be no grilling so will have to cook them inside. Thanks for the recipe!
