Jalapeno Bread
With the recent rains and the cooler fall temperatures our jalapeno plants are really producing. In the fall they tend to turn red much sooner, and that means they are hotter. The Jalapeno Bread recipe is a great recipe to use some of those awesome jalapeno's and it is delicious. It smells wonderful as it is baking in the oven and then the first slice just melts in your mouth.
Jalapeno Bread
Miz Helen's Kitchen
Ingredients
3 cups all purpose flour
3 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons jalapenos, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 1/2 cups beer
2 tablespoons butter, melted

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt, mix well
Add the jalapeno's, garlic and cheddar cheese, mix well
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour the beer in the well, mix well until completely combined, this will be a very stiff dough

Remove the bread from the oven to a cooling rack and brush the top with the melted butter
Cool in the pan on the rack for 10 minutes and remove from pan

ReplyDeleteThere's a local bakery that makes jalapeno cheddar bread, and it's one of my hubby's favorites. However, they've raised their prices to the point that it's too expensive for me to buy except for special occasions. My hubby will be so glad I saw your recipe! Pinning to make ASAP!
