Background Story On Full Plate Thursday
When
we were young and just
starting out in life sometimes we did not have a
lot of money. Most of our friends were
having to stretch the dollars
at the end of the month just like us. My
girlfriends and I decided that we
would pool our food for some of the
evening meals right before payday...
the last week of the month. I have some
of the fondest memories from those
days. We would all bring our food
together and we had some great food and
great fellowship. We would get the
food on the table and everything ready,
someone would bless the food and
then the hostess would say "come fill your
plate".

ReplyDeleteMiz Helen, I just saw on the new the nasty ice storm coming your way. Please stay safe and take care. I grew up in the South an ice storms are the worst and so dangerous. Thinking of you & your family. Even for Max ice can be dangerous when you venture outside.
ReplyDeleteFondly,
Sam
Dearest Sam,
DeleteYou are so sweet to think of us in this horrible ice storm that is headed our way. We have all of our supplies for being restricted to the house for a few days. Max is all cozy in my lap and helping to keep me warm. It is 31 degrees right now and the temperature is falling with a light rain so it is starting. You are right it can be very dangerous and we will be staying indoors, just hoping that our electric holds on, you know we are in the country and sometimes loose power.
Thank you so much for your concern, it means so much to us.
Hugs!
Miz Helen
