I hope that you had a really wonderful holiday season and am so excited that you are here to help us kick off 2014! Come on in and sit by the fire with us, it has been so cold. I have some Nana's Hoppin John for us today with some hot Cornbread, just in case you didn't get any Black Eyed Peas on New Years Day, you can have some with us. Background Story On Full Plate Thursday
When
we were young and just
starting out in life sometimes we did not have a
lot of money. Most of our friends were
having to stretch the dollars
at the end of the month just like us. My
girlfriends and I decided that we
would pool our food for some of the
evening meals right before payday...
the last week of the month. I have some
of the fondest memories from those
days. We would all bring our food
together and we had some great food and
great fellowship. We would get the
food on the table and everything ready,
someone would bless the food and
then the hostess would say "come fill your
plate".

I've brought a pot of Navy Bean Soup that is gluten-free and can also easily be free of the top 8 allergens. Also I discuss some of the difficulties with finding gluten-free dried beans, peas and legumes. Thanks so much for hosting us!
