Full Plate Thursday Where The Greatest Cooks On The Planet Gather
The Super Bowl is this weekend and some of you are planning really big parties, for the big game. Our team didn't make it this year, but we will be enjoying the festivities with others. The thing I enjoy the most is the food, its like a grazing for 2 or 3 hours. We are sure glad to see you today and hear all about your week and especially see what you are bringing to share with us today, come on in and get warm by the fire, its "still" cold here. We have some hot cider and cookies to enjoy while we are waiting on all the food to get on the table. I brought along my Southwest Skillet Dip for you to taste, this is what I will be taking for the Super Bowl Party this weekend.

Background Story For Full Plate Thursday
When
we were young and just
starting out in life sometimes we did not have a
lot of money. Most of our friends were
having to stretch the dollars
at the end of the month just like us. My
girlfriends and I decided that we
would pool our food for some of the
evening meals right before payday...
the last week of the month. I have some
of the fondest memories from those
days. We would all bring our food
together and we had some great food and
great fellowship. We would get the
food on the table and everything ready,
someone would bless the food and
then the hostess would say "come fill your
plate".

ReplyDeleteHi Miz Helen,
ReplyDeleteI'm bringing a plate of Garlic Cheese French Bread Bites for your table this week. It would go with a bowl of soup to warm us up on this chilly day. We were subzero this morning again, but I expect it will begin to warm a bit after this.

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Miz Helen, I would certainly love to join you by your cosy fire, as it is very cold here in England, the North wind is blowing, the skies are grey and we have rain.... so to sit beside your fire would be perfect.

There is a lot of Super Bowl madness in NYC because NJ is hosting it. They even blocked off a section of midtown, calling it Super Bowl Boulvard.. filled with team related stuff. Enjoy the game and and thank you for the party.
