It is so good to see all of you on the opening day of spring and it's about time. The winter of 2014 has been unforgettable and one that I am happy to move past. I just love the fresh foods of spring when we can begin to enjoy the wonderful bounty from the earth. We have a Candied Lemon Thyme Bread with hot tea for you to enjoy today while we are getting all this fabulous food on the table.

When
we were young and just
starting out in life sometimes we did not have a
lot of money. Most of our friends were
having to stretch the dollars
at the end of the month just like us. My
girlfriends and I decided that we
would pool our food for some of the
evening meals right before payday...
the last week of the month. I have some
of the fondest memories from those
days. We would all bring our food
together and we had some great food and
great fellowship. We would get the
food on the table and everything ready,
someone would bless the food and
then the hostess would say "come fill your
plate".

Good Morning Miz Helen, I am so pleased that Spring has finally arrived for you. The blossom on your tree is lovely. I went to my sewing group on Tuesday and I saw trees laden with Cherry Blossom, it was such a lovely sight to see after months of no colour.
