Full Plate Thursday Where The Greatest Cooks On The Planet Gather
The last week in June, how can this be? We are having such a wonderful summer with rain and cool weather it gives us lots of back porch time, so come sit with me on the back porch today and we will just enjoy some of this Blackberry Cobbler that I am sharing with you. Our Blackberry bushes have been really producing some awesome berries. Have you been able to get some fresh vegetables or fruit from your garden or farmers market? I can't wait to see what wonderful summer creation you are bringing to share with us today, so lets get it on the table.

Background Story On Full Plate Thursday
When
we were young and just
starting out in life sometimes we did not have a
lot of money. Most of our friends were
having to stretch the dollars
at the end of the month just like us. My
girlfriends and I decided that we
would pool our food for some of the
evening meals right before payday...
the last week of the month. I have some
of the fondest memories from those
days. We would all bring our food
together and we had some great food and
great fellowship. We would get the
food on the table and everything ready,
someone would bless the food and
then the hostess would say "come fill your
plate".

Hi Miz Helen. I love your blackberry cobbler. Our blackberries beyond the fence are nearly up to the power lines. Looks like we need to trim some back. The hummingbirds love to nest in them, so I love blackberries for many reasons. This week I shared a 4th of July favorite--Red, White and Blue Potato salad. Finn says Woof! to little Max.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting! I've shared a favorite Indian food recipe -- Butter Chicken in the Crock Pot. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for saving me a place at the party! I brought my Skinny Éclair to share (#41). Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting and for the feature, Miz Helen!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the party, Miz Helen. My garden did well this year, but I had raccoon thieves to deal with! Hope you have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have fresh blackberry bushes. I'm jealous! I just have to tell you if you are ever in the Atlanta area, the Dekalb Farmers Market is absolutely fantastic with its array of fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs and staples at fantastic prices. Wish I lived closer as I would be there all the time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, Miz Helen!
ReplyDeleteThat's a mouth-watering dish of blackberry cobbler to put on the table, Miz Helen!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the party Miz Helen! My week wouldn't be complete if I didn't make it to your party! Lynn
