Grandma's Summer Camp

When our kids were home from school in the summer they always helped with the gardening, cooking, canning and general task that taught life skills. When they got older and began to bring their children to Grandma's for summer visits, I began to call that time Grandma's Summer Camp. I tried to always have some special project that they could complete in the time that they were with us and yet one that would teach a life skill. We have had everything from rigging your fishing pole, boat safety, outdoor camping skills, to meal planning, and sewing projects. At our Grandma's Summer Camp 2014, we did some gardening, meal planning, cooking 101, and a craft project where we made our own wrapping paper.

Some of our family have traveled all over the world and been entertained by some of the finest, but the memories they share the most are those that were made at summer camp or just being with family for special events and I am so grateful that I got to help make some of those precious memories. Thanks so much for stopping by today and taking a look at our camp. I sure hope you will be able to have some summer memories for 2014!

  7. Good Morning Miz Helen, Oh what fun your grand daughter is having.... and what an adorable little girl. I agree, it isn't money, it isn't possessions, it isn't that the house is clean and tidy, that stays with us, it is the love, laughter and fun of child hood that stay within us as we grow older..... and your grandchildren will have them by the bucket load.
    Best Wishes
