All over our little village soups are simmering on the stove, breads are in the oven and the leaves are beginning to fall, it's fall! The weather is beautiful here and the gardens and farmers markets are filling to the brim with pumpkins and other fall squash. This is a fun time of the year for cooks, with so many different products to choose from. I am looking forward to you filling the table with wonderful food today, after all you'al are the greatest cooks on the planet!

Background Story For Full Plate Thursday
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the month. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".

ReplyDeleteDo you really smell soup in the air and see falling leaves?? There is not one hint of fall in Alabama, and the only leaves that are falling are dead ones drying up from the heat! thanks for the party Miz Helen, your full plate sounds delicious!
