Full Plate Thursday 2-2-17
It is great to kick off February with all of you! We are having fun here at the cottage actually doing some spring planting in our garden and getting seeds ready for more planting. I love some of the ethnic post we had last week and can't wait to try them. I wonder what some of you are working on this time of the year when for the most part we are confined due to weather. I am sure you are bringing some fantastic recipes to share with us today so lets get this party started!

Background Story For Full Plate Thursday
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the week. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".
Thank you for hosting Miz Helen!

ReplyDeleteHappy February and happy gardening! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI made a recipe similar to your bacon planks, and I was the one who couldn't stop eating them! They are delicious! I made some with parm and some with brown sugar~
ReplyDeleteThose bacon planks look irresistible, Miz Helen. I'm not sure I'd be able to stop eating them! It's wonderful you are able to start the spring planting. It's still a bit too cold and wet here in the UK. This week I've shared an Easy Scallop Supper, perfect for dinner for two, or you can double or triple the recipe for entertaining. Thank you so much for hosting the party, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteHave fun in the garden, still too cold here for that:@)

ReplyDeleteMiz Helen, thank you for hosting. Your meatball casserole looks like what I want for dinner tonight! My salad I linked is perfect for parties, potlucks and picnics -- it can sit in its tangy dressing and not lose its crunch.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Miz Helen, for featuring my Butter Cookie Dragons! I hope you enjoy some with your afternoon tea :)
