Full Plate Thursday 3-16-17 # 319
Only a few more days and it will be officially spring! We are busy here at the cottage celebrating our Irish heritage this week. We have been making our old family favorites and remembering many good times with family members gathered around the table. It is a joy to gather each thursday with all of you around our table and you always bless my life with your amazing recipes. Thanks so much for being here today!

Background Story For Full Plate Thursday
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the week. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".
It is nearly Spring, Miz Helen! I've been enjoying the weather on my visit to California, and am hoping it will be Spring-like when I get home to the UK on Sunday. This week I'm sharing some Gluten Free Blackberry and Apple Scones I made with my friend Sandi, of Fearless Dining, who is based here in the Bay Area. Thank you so much for hosting and I wish you a very Happy St Patrick's Day!
