October Food and Recipe Basket
What's In Season and How Can I Use It?
That is the question that we address in our Food and Recipe Basket. Fall garden production is hardy here because we still have temperatures that allow production to continue. Although we still have some of our summer production available, some of the all time favorite fall products are ready to harvest in the month of October. Some of these crops have been growing for several months. We planted some our winter crops earlier this month. I am excited for the fall fruits and vegetables with their wonderful warm and cozy flavors.
We Are Starting This Basket With
Fall and Winter Squash

Pumpkins of course are just ready to harvest here at the end of October,
however the major part of our cooking with pumpkin comes in November.
We decorate with Pumpkins in October and then cook with them in November, so our recipes for pumpkin will come next month.
