Double Chocolate Pretzel Brownies
I am making a big pan of these Double Chocolate Pretzel Brownies for my Tuesday Night Ladies. I teach a small group Bible Study in my home on Tuesday night and I wanted to make a really special treat for the ladies as we begin to dig deep in our study. These brownies are full of awesome sweet double chocolate crumb with a salty crunchy bottom and top, a great sweet and salty treat.
After all don't you think that brownies make everything better?

Ingredients
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter
5 (ounces) bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 large eggs, beaten
1-1/4 cups flour
1 cup milk chocolate chips
2 cups thin salted pretzels, crushed
Directions
In a medium saucepan, melt one cup of the butter.
Stir in the chopped bittersweet chocolate and melt the chocolate, taking care to stir and not burn the chocolate.
Sift in the cocoa powder and whisk to completely combine.
Remove from the heat and let cool 10 minutes.
Stir into the cooled chocolate mixture the sugar and vanilla, mix thoroughly.
Stir in the beaten eggs and then gently fold in the flour until fully incorporated.
Stir in the chocolate chips making sure they are mixed well into the dough.
With the 2 tablespoons butter generously butter the sides and bottom of a 9 X 13 baking dish.
Sprinkle 1 cup of the crushed pretzels on the bottom of the buttered baking dish.
Carefully spread the brownie dough on top of the crushed pretzels.
Add the remaining cup of crushed pretzels on top of the dough.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes, careful not to over cook the brownies.
Cool the brownies to room temperature before cutting into serving pieces, well if you can keep the folks away that long.
Enjoy!
