Sausage and Biscuits Breakfast Casserole With Pepper Gravy
There is nothing like sausage, biscuits and gravy for a very southern breakfast. This casserole has all those wonderful elements rolled into one casserole that is absolutely delicious, then we drizzle Pepper Gravy over the serving to top off the flavor. This is like sitting down to Grandma's table with everything in one nice baking dish. A breakfast casserole is always a great way to feed a large group for breakfast or brunch. We will be serving this casserole next weekend to a large group and I know they will love it.
Sausage and Biscuits Breakfast Casserole
With Pepper Gravy
We Start With A Skillet Full Of Country Sausage
and Fresh Onions and Peppers
Layer The Bottom Of The Baking Dish
With Biscuits
All Of The Sausage Goodness Is Then
Layered On Top Of Biscuits
Sprinkle With Cheese
Pour The Egg Mixture Over The Layers
Bake In The Oven
Sausage and Biscuits Breakfast Casserole With Pepper Gravy

Ingredients
The Casserole
1 pound breakfast sausage
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup red bell pepper, chopped
1 cup green bell pepper, chopped
1 cup yellow bell pepper, chopped
1 (16 ounce container) biscuits
8 eggs, beaten
1 cup half and half
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
cooking spray
Directions
In a large skillet, cook the sausage to just turning brown.
Add the onions, and all the bell peppers and stir them into the sausage.
Place the lid on the skillet and reduce the heat to allow the vegetables to cook until tender. When the vegetables are tender remove the skillet from the heat and set aside.
In a mixing pitcher, beat the eggs with the half and half, then add the salt, pepper and cayenne.
Cut the biscuits in quarters.
Spray a 9 X 13 baking dish with cooking spray and place the biscuits quarters in the bottom of the baking dish.
Layer the sausage and vegetable mix on top of the biscuits.
Sprinkle the cheese on top of the sausage layer.
Pour the egg mixture over the last layer.
Bake in the oven at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes, until set in the center.
Remove from the oven to a cooling rack. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
White Pepper Gravy

Ingredients For White Pepper Gravy
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons all purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
3 to 4 teaspoons ground black pepper
Directions
In a medium saucepan melt the butter and add the flour.
Mix the flour with the butter and cook it for about a minute until the flour has cooked, stirring constantly.
With the heat on medium low add the milk and stir until the mixture is very smooth and thick.
Stir in the salt and pepper.
For Serving, drizzle the white pepper gravy over the serving and enjoy!
