Retro Peach Salad

Retro Peach Salad at Miz Helen's Country Cottage

This peach salad could be found on my Mothers and my Aunts table just about anytime there was a special family dinner. Some of the family would sometimes make a similar salad with pears, but we always made our recipe with peaches. I think we used peaches because my Grandparents had a peach orchard on their farm and they canned a lot of peaches during the peach harvest. Everyone always called this a salad but to me it was more like a delicious dessert that I loved back in  the day and I still do!

We Start This Salad With Some Nice Peach Halves
Nestled Into A Nice Bed Of Fresh Lettuce

Next We Fill The Peach Halves With Some

Ingredients
Lettuce to Line The Serving Platter
1 (29 ounce) can of Peach Halves
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons peach juice
Directions
In a mixer bowl, place the cream cheese, sugar and peach juice.
Mix until the mixture is very smooth.
If you want the mixture thinner, then add more peach juice a little at a time.
Fill the cup in the peach halves with the cream cheese mixture.
We like to garnish with mint, however you can use cheddar cheese, or even cherries.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Enjoy!
