Full Plate Thursday,469

Full Plate Thursday is all a buzz this week, some of our readers are getting ready for the Big Super Bowl Game on Sunday while others are preparing for a romatic and fun filled February that is coming up already! We have some great features this week from some very talented bloggers and hope you will take the time to visit them and say Hi! I always look forward to seeing all of you at the party and thanks so much for coming and sharing with us today!

Mississippi Cheesy Beef Sandwich

Mississippi Chessy Beef Sandwich is a recipe that came as a result of standing over the sheet pan of pulled Mississippi Pot Roast and wondering what I could do that my husband would really love, and this is it. He did indeed love the new sandwich and so did I, just wait until you see how this sandwich goes together with all the ingredients. This is a delicious sandwich and we are serving it with some great herb roasted baby potatoes.

Instant Pot Mississippi Pot Roast

Mississippi Pot Roast is a flavor filled roast that has been in my recipe box more than a few years. The Instant Pot has made it possible to have that roast in a much shorter time. I changed my original recipe just a bit to make it even better in the Instant Pot if that was even possible, which I found out it was. Be sure and check out my recipe to see what has been changed, that made it even better.

Whats For Dinner Next Week,1-16-20

I look forward to sitting down and planning my meals everyweek and then being able to share with with all of you is a big plus. I always check the weather before making meal plans, if it is cold weather our family always want something warm and cozy to eat. We have had a cold and rainy week and are expecting the same next week, I am hungry already! I have gathered my recipes that we will be  using this week so we are all ready to go.

Full Plate Thursday,468

Welcome to Full Plate Thursday, I am so glad that you could come to the party today. This is our Top Ten Week from last weeks party and we have some really great features for you to enjoy. We have had some family visiting us here at the cottage and we had so much fun and enjoyed some great food. They are moving to another state and we are sure going to miss them. I am looking forward to seeing all of your recipes, table decor, and food related post that you will be sharing with us today, thanks so much for coming!

Herb Roasted Baby Potatoes

I had planted some of these little baby potatoes last year in the garden to try them out, and we loved them. The only thing was I didn't plant enough to get us through the whole winter. I found these near the large potatoes in the market, there are white, red and purple fingerling's in this assortment. I have added some herbs and onions to the mix and roasted them. This is a great side dish for any occasion and they are delicious.

Nana's Spice Cake Recipe

I was recently asked to bring a spice cake to a function in my community and this is my go to Spice Cake recipe. For years, I made this cake for family gathering's and some of our family just love this recipe so we call it Nana's Spice Cake. This recipe is very moist and the blend of spices are a perfect balance that makes this a great cake to have for any occasion. I like to frost the cake with a creamy Cream Cheese Frosting and top it with chopped pecans, and sometimes to make it really special we will garnish with fresh fruit.

Whats For Dinner Next Week, 1-19-20

We are having cold rainy weather, a good time to take care of inside projects, so I have been busy organizing my pantry. When I keep an organized pantry it makes meal planning much easier, I can quickly look in the pantry to see what items are on hand that I don't have to pick up at the market. I have gathered the recipes that look good to me for the week and the tea is ready so lets sit for awhile have our tea and make some meal plans.

Full Plate Thursday,467

Hello everyone, come into the cottage and get warm by the fire, it is very cold outside. Winter has truly arrived and we are enjoying warm and cozy recipes and cheerful surroundings. I love setting a cheerful table for a great recipe that has been prepared. We have some great recipes and post from last weeks party that are featured today, and we invite you to stop by and say hello to these talented bloggers. Thanks so much for stopping by the party today, I can't wait to see what you will be sharing!

Pear Salad With Blue Cheese Ranch Dressing

I really enjoy this salad, but the dressing is amazing, and a perfect combination for this mix of greens, nuts and fruit. This Blue Cheese Ranch Dressing recipe has a delicious combination of spice and cheese, add the fruit and nuts with the salad greens and you have a real winner. I have added grilled chicken to this salad to dress it up a bit and served it for a luncheon, but it is a great salad without the grilled chicken. Served with or without the grilled chicken it is a winner every time.

Slow Cooker Caldillo (Mexican Stew)

I grew up in West Texas where we have a lot of migrant workers to help with the various farm harvest. The Mexican families brought with them the most delicious stew that came to be a favorite in our region. I grew up eating this recipe and it has been changed through the years to use some canned products and I have taken it from the stew pot to the slow cooker. The basic ingredients for this stew remain the same and the flavors bring me right back to the days when I would go to my Grandpa's cotton patch and help pull cotton all day. I would be out in the field with all the other children and it was a fun time. I remember coming into the kitchen at the end of the day to the smell of the Caldillo simmering away on the back of the stove. The first bite of that stew will take me back every time and it is so worth it, this stew is delicious!

Whats For Dinner Next Week,1-12-20

I got so busy this week it would have been easy for me to put off making my meal plans, does that ever happen to you? I am tempted to just put it off and have whatever comes to the table but then thank goodness my good sense returns and I make the plan which really saves more time for me to stay busy with other things in life. Now the plan is complete and I can't wait to sit down to some of these delicious meals.

Full Plate Thursday,466

Hello everyone, I am so happy to see you today, a drive to the country this time of the year is so peaceful. I have been watching some Cardinals in one of our Bradford Pear Trees enjoying the dried berries on the tree, even the little creatures are seasonal eaters. I can't wait to see what you will be sharing this week, it is that time of the year when we look to comforting foods that keep us warm and cozy. We have some great features from last week that I hope you will visit, really talented bloggers! Thanks so much for coming today and we look forward to an awesome party!

Orange Cranberry Bread

The combination of orange and cranberry is one of my favorites and I love being able to use that combination in this awesome Orange Cranberry Bread recipe. We love a nice fruit bread for our coffee break and it is perfect for afternoon tea. I really enjoy making this recipe during fresh cranberry season although it can be made the year round with frozen cranberries. This recipe will make 1 large loaf or 3 small loaves, you may want to share an extra loaf with a friend.

Ham and Pineapple Sliders With Orange Cranberry Dressing

When I cook a ham we always have some left overs and these little sliders really take care of any left overs plus they are delicious. The Orange Cranberry Dressing is so flavorful I use it as a dressing for salads and meats. This is a very simple but flavorful recipe. Sometimes I freeze the leftover ham and fruit and then use it later for an event like a game day or a Sunday fun day. Make sure you have enough for the crowd, because you really can't eat just one.
