Crab and Pasta Casserole
This is a delicious crab and pasta casserole with fresh vegetables and a cheesy sauce. If you need a great fish casserole to take to a covered dish dinner, then this one will sure be a hit. I have taken this to many covered dish suppers during lent and other times of the year. Our family loves this casserole and it freezes really well.

How To Make Crab and Pasta Casserole
We are starting this recipe with some
chopped bell peppers and onion sauté.
Chop the crab meat and set aside.
Add the sautéed bell peppers and the
chopped onions to the chopped crab.
Add the cooked and drained pasta to the
creamy delicious cheese sauce!
Add the dressing sauce and seasons to
the crab mixture and mix well.
Place the mix into a butter baking dish and bake.

Crab and Pasta Casserole
A great pasta crab, and vegetable combination for a very flavorful casserole.
Ingredients
- 14 (ounces) imitation crab meat, chopped
- 16 (ounces) small macaroni pasta, boiled and drained
- 1 tablespoon butter for sauté
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 green onion's with tops, chopped
- 1/2 cup pimento's, chopped
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasons
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Cheese Sauce
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups mild cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tablespoon butter for baking dish
Instructions
- Add 1 tablespoon butter to a hot skillet and sauté the bell pepper and onion.
- In a large mixing bowl pour the sautéed bell peppers and onion into the chopped crab and mix well, then add the pimento's and mix.
- Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, Cajun seasons, garlic powder, pepper and cayenne, mix well.
- In a heavy skillet heat 4 tablespoons butter, whisk in the flour and keep whisking as you add the milk. After the flour is dissolved then add the cheddar cheese. Keep stirring and add the Parmesan until all melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked and drained macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Add the pasta and cheese sauce to the crab mixture and mix well.
- Butter the bottom of a 9 X 13 baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter.
- Pour the crab casserole mixture into the baking dish.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Let this casserole cool for at least
10 minutes before serving.
This casserole is ready to serve!
It you should have any left overs,
this cooked casserole freezes very well.

Do you think Old Bay seasoning could work in this instead of Cajun and cayenne? Can't do hot seasonings.
