Garden To Table Green Beans & Potatoes
It is our first picking of green beans for the season and our first potato dig for the season. We just picked almost a half of a bushel of green beans and dug some potatoes to go with them. After we clean the potatoes these fresh vegetables are going right into the kitchen and they will be on the table tonight for dinner. Our daughter from Oregon is visiting us right now and she is so sweet to help us out with so many projects, including a little gardening. These green beans and potatoes will be delicious, there is something about just getting it off the vine and out of the ground that brings a whole new taste to the dish.

The Green Bean & Potato Patch
This is what the patch looked like just a month ago in May.
Our daughter Melody and her Dad, my husband, Leonard starting to pick the green beans for the first time this season. They are still smiling at this point!
Now they are starting to have a more serious look on their face, and yes it was starting to get really hot outside. And where was I you might ask, helping to pick beans of course, but then like a good blogger, I had to take a break and snap some photo's, (thank goodness)!
We couldn't possibly have a productive garden
without our precious Garden Dog Max!
Max is 13 years old and will be 14 in October.
Max was our rescue, he came to his
forever home with us when he was 3 years old. We love our Max!
We will all rest in the shade for a few minutes and
then head to the cottage with our harvest of the day.
The potatoes have been washed and
we will snap and string the green beans.
This is a very simple recipe, you really don't need a lot of spice to add to these amazing vegetables right out of the garden.
