Sour Cream Pie With Cherries & Whipped Cream
Our Sour Cream Pie With Cherries & Whipped Cream has been in my recipe box since the early 70's when one of my friends shared it with me. Through the years I have changed it here and there, but the base recipe remains the same. This pie is so easy to make with very few ingredients and yet it is so versatile. It is one of our go to pies here at the cottage and I sure hope you enjoy it!

How To Make Sour Cream Pie
With Cherries and Whipped Cream
We start the pie with a un-baked pie crust, I like to make my own crust, but a prepared crust is just fine to use.
Beat the eggs, sugar, vanilla, flour, butter and sour cream together and pour into the un-baked pie crust.
Bake the pie then remove it to a cooling rack,
until it reaches room temperature.
Beat the whipping cream, sugar and vanilla until the peaks are stiff.
Fill a quart zip lock bag or decorator bag with whipped cream to pipe the edge of the pie. I like to set the bag into a class to fill it, it is so much easier for me. Then just zip it closed and snip the end off with your scissors and you have a decorator bag.
Cover the top of the pie with Whipped Cream and pipe the edges. The pie can be served with no garnish, but we love the cherries.
Recipe
I use cherry pie filling mixed with a little season for the garnish and it is delicious!
This is our favorite way to have the pie, with the cherry filling garnish right in the center of the pie!
Enjoy your slice of the pie!
I love this recipe because it is so versatile, you can garnish with fresh fruit in season or you can use any kind of fruit pie filling or glaze. Just make it yours and Happy Cooking!
Thanks so much for spending time at the cottage with us today. We always enjoy your visits and hope that you will come back to see us real soon!
