Crunchy Baked Chicken With Spicy Honey
We love fried chicken, but this recipe for Crunchy Baked Chicken With Spicy Honey will sure give it a run for at least second place. This recipe is so easy and just full of crunchy flavor. The Spicy Honey gives it a special touch to drizzle over the finished chicken. I am serving it with our delicious Tangy Lemon Cole Slaw!

Crunchy Baked Chicken With Spicy Honey
We are starting this recipe with a blend of flour, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper,
salt and black pepper.

all that crunchy is going to come from. We will begin by padding the chicken dry, then salt the chicken on all sides. Add the chicken to the flour and seasons bowl. Dust the chicken with the flour mixture. Working with one piece at a time, after the flour mixture dip the chicken into the buttermilk mixture
and then into the cornflakes and coat on all sides.
Bake in the oven until golden brown.
and a pinch of salt.
Pour the spicy honey into a glass serving container.
Store at room temperature, do not refrigerate.

Crunchy Baked Chicken With Spicy Honey
This recipe is very easy to make with great seasons and a special spicy honey drizzle. This is a must try recipe!
Ingredients
Crunchy Baked Chicken
- 6 medium chicken breast
- 2 teaspoons salt, for chicken
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, for flour mixture
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce
- 5 cups cornflakes, crushed
Spicy Honey
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- dash salt
Instructions
Crunchy Baked Chicken
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, onion powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt.
- In a second mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, mayonnaise, buttermilk, and hot sauce.
- In the third mixing bowl, place 5 cups of the crushed cornflakes.
- Place one piece of the chicken into the flour mixture and cover with flour, then shake off the excess flour. Next place the floured chicken into the buttermilk mixture and then shake of the excess. Last place the chicken into the cornflakes and make sure it is completely cover with a good coating of cornflakes.
- Place the covered chicken onto a baking sheet with a baking rack.
- Repeat the process until all the chicken is on the baking rack.
- Place in a preheated 425 degree oven and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. The inside chicken temperature needs to read 165 degrees.
- Remove from the oven and let set for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
Spicy Honey
- Make sure the honey is at room temperature.
- Stir together the honey, hot sauce, crushed red pepper flakes and salt.
- Pour into a glass container to store at room temperature.
- Do not refrigerate.
