Old Fashioned Strawberry Cobbler
I love it when strawberry season arrives and we love our Old Fashioned Strawberry Cobbler here at the cottage. This is one of my Aunt's recipes and I can remember her making it when I was a young girl. It is a very simple recipe to prepare with a delicious finish. We like to serve it warm with a nice dip of ice cream on top. This is a wonderful dessert and a very special treat.

Pour the cornstarch and 1/2 cup of the
granulated sugar over the sliced strawberries.
Gently stir the strawberries and sugar mix together.
Set aside.
In a medium mixing bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and remaining 1/4 cup of sugar.
Cut the butter into the flour mixture
with a pastry cutter.
Continue to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the whipping cream to the flour and butter mixture. Mix together with
your clean hands until just combined.
Spray a 9X13 baking dish with a baking spray.
Add the strawberries to the baking dish.
Gather the dough mixture into small clumps, and scatter over strawberries. Sprinkle the top with
turbinado sugar.
Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes
or until the topping is very golden and crisp.
The strawberry mixture will bubble around the edges.
Remove from oven,
let stand at least 15 minutes before serving.
